Barrel longevity is highly dependent on proper care and handling. The more conscientiously a firearm is handled, the longer all of the components will last.

Heat is the number one enemy to firearm service life and accuracy. Tthe explosion and hot gasses from a fired round will slowly change the metallurgical properties of metal and carry away some of the weakened material. This is known as throat erosion. The hotter a barrel gets, the more pronounced this effect.

Metal will expand, or grow in size, when heated. This often leads to a shift in barrel harmonics and reactions to follow-up shots. A hot barrel will react more different the hotter it gets and induce inaccuracies.

Feeding ammunition into a hot action will change the chemical properties of the charge itself. This may lead to ammunition not performing as expected.

Introducing the 3SG barrel cooler that helps in mitigating heat buildup in between volleys by forcing air down the length of the firearm’s barrel.

A little airflow is all that is needed to quickly cool down a barrel. The firearm barrel and action already acts as a large heat sink. All it needs is a little air flow to draw away the heat.

This lightweight and compact unit easily fits into any hunting pack or range bag. It is the perfect companion for serious hunters out in the open, hot bush veld and target shooters alike.

Traditional axial fans are great at moving a lot of air, but they cannot generate a lot of static pressure to force air down a narrow hole. Our barrel cooler features a blower that can generate enough pressure to push air through a barrel.

It has a micro USB port for power input and can be run off any mobile phone power bank.

The barrel cone can be changed for a different size cone to accommodate even the thickest of bull barrels.

Each barrel cooler is sold as a base unit with separate cones, as required for your firearms.
